I am very new to painting, although I have put up with Kevs obsession for some time. Well if you can't beat them, join them.
I am very new to all this painting malarkey, this blog is really to show my progress as I hopefully get better. I do game sometimes, "Saga" & "Magic the Gathering". I love all things Tolkien & have a keen interest in history.

My First Entry

Well Hello!
Kev is showing how to use this blog thingy.
My first entry is the 54mm Medievals I'm working on.
These are for Kev's new "Siege" game he is creating.
He is letting me paint all the missile soldiers to start with.
Archers & Crossbowmen.
All are 54mm "Accurate Figures".
I hate painting faces, although the figures already looked deformed before I attempted the flesh.
Hope I will get better with more practice and better figures.






Not bad for a first effort, even if I say so myself, although I have a lot to learn about painting.

    Nice to see another female figure painter. I'm sure you'll be getting plenty of advice on painting from Kev, but if you have any questions or are looking for tips/advice, don't be afraid to ask :)

    Thanks Andy, I'll ask Kev how to do it.
    Thankyou Tamsin, Kev always seens to busy, so I may take you up on that offer.
    I know I have a lot to learn.
    But I really do enjoy painting, I find it relaxing, it really does take my mind off the daily rat race.
    I am also looking forward to playing this siege game with Kev when all the figures are ready.

    good start, I will keep an eye on your progress and offer any advice when I can. Most important tip is a good brush you could be the best painter in the world but unless your brush holds its point you will find is all very hard. And have 2 water cups/bowls one for washing after metalic paints and one for all the rest.
    Do not hold your breath when painting details you will pass out :)

    Thanks for the advice James, Kev bought me some brushes for my birthday so ok but will remember about water. As to the holding my breath too late ive passed out twice lol. My painting at the moment will be 54mm missile troops for Kevs new seige rules although I will be trying smaller mm and different periods. Quite like ACW so might have a try at some of those next.

    I'd suggest 3 cups - 1 for dirty rinsing after metallic paints (and set aside brushes that you only use for those), 1 for dirty rinsing after non-metallic paints and the third as a "clean rinse" after the dirty rinses.

    Hours, which has a standard minute hand but an hour hand that jumps around to fake Audemars Piguet various positions to indicate the time. The ReOrder is inspired by watches like the Crazy Hours but done in a more simple fake IWC way that offers a different type of dial design. The basic idea of this watch is that the hours are indicated via both a small hand fake Franck Muller and a disc. That disc moves underneath the main dial and highlights various hour marker windows — which aren’t placed fake Vacheron Constantin in standard numerical order on the dial.
